Florida welcomes all tourists and locals to enjoy the many experiences that Florida has to offer. Not so long ago, we visited and fell in love with Florida. Both of us had always dreamed of living close to the ocean. After a lot of planning we rid ourselves of things we wouldn’t need, like winter clothes, snow shovels and ice scrapers.
The internet is a wonderful thing because we had no clue on where we would move. We started looking at cities, communities and houses on the internet. Two years later we followed our dreams and made the move. I now consider both of us local tourists.
Have you ever given thought to checking out those little known places right here in your own town? The locals have a lot of great information about our area and much of it is off the beaten path.
The historic jungle trail is a treasure we found while driving my jeep one day. It’s about 8 miles long and has places to pull off to fish, relax or to exercise.
The trail is mostly compacted sand, so you can walk, drive or bicycle the entire trail.
You can kayak or fish in the Sebastian river or the Indian River Lagoon, but be sure you check out the local fishing regulations.
Top off your weekend with a day at Sebastian Inlet.
You can fish off the pier or just walk it at night. It’s also a beautiful place to watch the sunset.
Or you can relax at the beach while others collect seashells.
Isn’t it wonderful that whatever you choose, you don’t have far to go.
If you wish to take a drive, we have Indian river drive right here in Sebastian. You can take in the sunrise, watch the palm trees sway in the breeze or check out some of the old buildings along the way.
Get outside and become a tourist in your own backyard and show us what you’ve seen and experienced.
